A cursory glance reveals beer taps and signed footballs, autographs and other O.U. foorball memorabilia, and that was just the first of multiple tents.
"Can I get you guys a pop? Hey, I know it’s early but I’m happy to make you guys some burgers or sump’m; won’t take a mintute. We’ve got burgers and hot dogs and all kinds of salads and sides and stuff for sandwiches."
We took some water, thanked him for his hospitality, and started discussing ‘Sooner spirit’ and the ‘host’ mentality when tailgating.
"We’ve been in this spot for fifteen years, now. It’s become almost like a reunion when football season starts. People come and go over the years, but you know everyone around you. This is all family, everywhere you look. It don’t matter what color your shirt is when you walk under my tent, you’re a part of that family; our last name just happens to be “Sooners.”
